We have known war as far back as we can remember. It can be over land, religion, cultures, intolerance, and just because…
Are we born with the desire to control, take what we think is ours, hate due to ignorance and need to kill? There is good and evil but will either be the winner? We like to think the good will win but does that always happen and to what cost? Don’t they both lose?
I sit here with a broken heart at what is transpiring in the Middle East once again. Just when we think things are ok and somewhat normal, the virtual rug gets pulled out from under us throwing us into chaos once more. Brutal killings of innocent children, babies, mothers and even handicapped for what reason!? Hatred for Jewish people. Why is a religion and culture so hated? Not just in Israel but around the world? Antisemitism is at the all time high in the United States, Israel, and all over Europe. What is it’s root cause?
We are people just like everyone else, we eat, we sleep, we work hard, we take care of our families, we have to pay our bills, we all have faces, and bodies, we all have feelings and emotions. If you turned us inside out we would all look the same. We bleed like everyone else. So what makes us so hated. Are we just scapegoats for people to take out their anger on? Do we need to do that to feel better? There are those who are the “GOOD” people, who feel they too need to control and harm others. We are not all saints. Possibly we all need therapy to get rid of our issues that cause our anger. Or are we born with this hatred before we even begin our lives. When our lives are not in control due to poverty, hunger, bad parents, climate issues, over crowding, the need to be right and not understood, then we feel we need to blame someone or something.
Life is not easy. In my work I see that much is created before we come and agree so we can learn lessons from the traumas, health issues, poverty. Most of us wouldn’t agree to the script in our physical and emotional bodies but do so on spirit side, because we know what will be in our best interest to go through to learn these tough lessons. It is usually the hardest times that are our greatest growth times. We need to come away from everything including war and ask what did I learn from that. The answer should be not to fight since it will only cause bloodshed on both sides that causes deep pain. The answer should be that we learned love instead of hate since we could live so much more peacefully together. Or that we should live with not only tolerance but embrace each other’s differences for we can learn some different but beautiful new things.
But no! We come in not learning these lessons, not wanting to change because it is so ingrained in us to hate and disrespect our differences since our parents did or our culture did. It just repeats again and again.
This is a time in history that we have to learn these things in order to exist. WE have been given a lot of time to try to understand these lessons but keep repeating the same behaviors. Our time is running out. We have to learn to love our neighbor, whoever they are and learn to live in peace if we are to exist. We have weapons of mass destruction that can wipe us all out. Is our need to control so strong we are willing to take the chance of extinction over peace? WHO ARE WE? WHAT ARE WE DOING PEOPLE? WHY ARE WE NOT LEARNING?
